In previous posts, we learned about the variety of blanqueta olives. Continuing with the line of olive trees from Alicante, today we want to present the Changot Real olive tree. Although they share origin, both olives are truly different: The Changot Real olive is obscure and practically unknown in the national territory: its extension is less than 5,000 hectares.
In addition to Alicante, this crop can also be found in small plantations in Valencia, Jaén and Córdoba.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE REAL CHANGOT OLIVE

For producers, Changot Real is a diamond in the rough, because, despite its small area, it has a high yield (24%), but it is worth mentioning that it has a high resistance to detachment, which is why it is recommended for harvesting. use semi-automatic or manual methods, which makes their collection more expensive.
THE "ROYAL CHANGOT" OLIVE OIL
It produces a relatively strong oil, with a certain presence on the plate: it has bitter notes with a medium spiciness intensity. Its aroma is mainly fruity, evoking smells of tomato or apple.
