Alfafarenca variety: origin and properties

It originates from the town of Alfafar, where it has been cultivated for more than 100 years, and little by little it has spread throughout the Valencian Community, thus becoming one of the most outstanding varieties due to the flavor and quality of its oil.

Characteristics

It is characterized by the elliptical shape of its olive, which has a color between green and dark purple, depending on its degree of maturity. Its oil has an intense and fruity flavor, with bitter and spicy touches, perfect to accompany any dish.

Properties

This variety of olive has a large amount of polyphenols and oleic acid, which is why it has important antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. As has been shown, regular consumption of this type of oil helps reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, being a perfect ingredient to maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

Use in the kitchen
