If, in addition to these perfect weather conditions that we have in the Sierra de Mariola this year, we add the desire to do things well and excellent care for the olive trees, rigorously following all the treatments recommended by our agronomists for the olive trees, the result They are trees with very good flowering of the olive tree.
As is normal in any fruit juice, the oil is contained in the fruit. And using only mechanical procedures, we obtain Extra Virgin Olive Oil by cold extraction. Thus, the secret of making a good olive oil is that the olive trees produce very good fruit and that it is harvested in an optimum state of ripeness. At 9 Oliveres we have spent many years carefully caring for all our olive trees so that they produce fruit in perfect condition. And a white olive from which we can extract our excellent Extra Virgin Olive Oil 9 Oliveres Blanqueta.
With the flowering of the olive tree that we have this year in the farm "La Jaquera" we hope, one more year, to make an excellent Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the Blanqueta Variety. For this, we will continue day by day taking care of our olive trees so that they give us excellent fruit. And of course, that the fruit is ideal to pick in the last weeks of October.
From 9 Oliveres we invite you to come and see the flowering of the Blanqueta olive tree on our farm. Located at the foot of the Sierra Mariola Natural Park. And we will be delighted to explain where this exquisite Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the Blanqueta variety comes from.
The olive tree is an arboreal species native to the eastern Mediterranean, a geographical area where its cultivation began to take advantage of the richness of its fruit, the olive. The natives of the place appreciated the qualities of the olive from which they extracted their juice, Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The fruit develops on the olive tree from June to January, from a white olive flower with yellow tones in May. The olive can be picked from the tree from October to February, in which Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a different fruitiness depending on the month in which the fruit is collected.
The olive flower is grouped in clusters made up of 10 to 40 flowers, depending on the variety, for example in the Blanqueta variety it is usually made up of 30-40 flowers. They are white-yellow flowers, bracteate and with a cup of 4 open petals. The olive flower is present in our lands in the months of May and June, giving rise to a fruit of just 1 cm in the month of June.
The olive flower appears on the tree in the month of May and can last on the olive tree until June or even July in late flowering months. During these months, we have seen a landscape painted yellow on the slopes of the Sierra Mariola Natural Park.
This year 2023 has been especially good for the flowering of the olive tree since there have been no frosts and the sun and heat have reached the Alicante area earlier than usual.
With this good olive blossom that we have had in 2023, we hope to repeat a good campaign, with excellent fruit quality and thus make a magnificent Extra Virgin olive oil of the Blanqueta variety.
