NEW: Take care of the environment and enjoy our olive oil packs

The 9 Oliveres project goes beyond an ecommerce dedicated to the sale and production of Extra Virgin olive oil. Our commitment to the environment leads us to adapt our business model to sustainability. For this reason, today we wanted to launch a new initiative so that you, our customers, can be part of our new sustainable challenge:for the purchase of each pack, we will plant 1 olive tree on our farm.

The objective of the project is not random, but the decision is due to the great benefits of planting trees (and especially olive trees for the environment:

Avoid land degradation: The leaves of the trees and the cover that accumulates on the ground protect it, since it cushions the impact of the rains.

They absorb CO2: As we already know, one of the most notorious effects of a large amount of CO2 in the air is air pollution and its contribution to global warming. According to various studies, in Spain, a person emits an average of 7.15 tons of CO2. These same studies state that, on average, a tree stores about 167 kg of CO2 annually. Therefore, this means that to offset the CO2 emissions of 1 single Spaniard, we would have to plant around 68 trees. Besides, according to a study by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, He affirms that one of the numerous benefits that olive groves can bring to the environment is that their properties make them capable of absorbing more CO2 than other trees.

As explained by the Secretary General of the International Olive Council -IOC-, Francisco Serafini, the olive tree slows down desertification and erosion. In addition, Serafini also indicated that the efforts of olive growing to obtain positive effects for the environment must focus on the adaptation of tools to achieve an increase in the CO2 fixation capacity of the atmosphere in permanent plant structures and in the soil.

This action follows the line of other initiatives that we have carried out, such as theinstallation of solar panels, the construction of a well and the recovery of abandoned farms thanks to the crowdfunding project that we carry out or for example, the plantation of the Changot Real olive to avoid its extinction.

Our commitment to the environment is certified by entities such as the Organic Agriculture Committee of the Valencian Community (CAECV).

Remember that you can help us fight desertification and the expansion of CO2 with the purchase of any of our packs
